Human Resource Management in European Aviation 2011
Munich, May 26 - 27, 2011 (Eden Hotel Wolff)
Call for Papers
The HUMAV conference has gained a reputation as a forum for the exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas for relevant human resource topics in the aviation sector since 2008. Academics as well as managers and experts from manufacturing and maintenance, airlines and airports and service providers will meet again in 2011 to discuss:
"Safety Management Systems - Development, Implementation and Perspectives"
The conference is organised by the WIT-Wildau Institute of Technology, an affiliate of the Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences, in cooperation with LTT - Lufthansa Technical Training and BDLI - German Aerospace Industries Association under the patronage of Dr. Peter Ramsauer, the German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Development.
While safety has always been a key issue in aviation, the focus has changed from technical to human and organizational factors:
- how to integrate safety in the company culture,
- how to find, train and keep the right people for safety-sensitive work,
- how to use quality management philosophy and tools for safety improvement.
You are invited to submit an abstract for a presentation in a workshop session on one or more of the following subjects:
- Process management and control
- Human factors in safety
- Employee attitudes towards safety
- Non punitive error reporting
- Safety issues in recruiting and training
- Organizational accident prevention
- Culture, communication, cooperation
- Implementation obstacles
- Ensuring compliance
- Insights from/for non-aviation sectors.
Presentations may have a theoretical, methodological or empirical background, business case studies are very welcome. Abstracts should contain a layout of the proposed paper of about 250 words; the final paper should have 12 to 20 pages. Presentations will be 20 minutes (plus 10 minutes for discussion). Please submit your abstract until April 13, 2010 at the latest and include the necessary information on the front page: Title of your paper, name(s), affiliation and address including phone/fax and e-mail.
